The cover up belongs not to Trump, but to the Democrats and Clinton in particular:
John Solomon lays it all out here. Here’s your Russian Collusion:
Federal agents used a confidential U.S. witness working inside the Russian nuclear industry to gather extensive financial records, make secret recordings and intercept emails as early as 2009 that showed Moscow had compromised an American uranium trucking firm with bribes and kickbacks in violation of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, FBI and court documents show.
They also obtained an eyewitness account — backed by documents — indicating Russian nuclear officials had routed millions of dollars to the U.S. designed to benefit former President Bill Clinton’s charitable foundation during the time Secretary of State Hillary Clinton served on a government body that provided a favorable decision to Moscow, sources told The Hill.
Chris Buskirk writes an excellent piece at The Hill drawing our attention to the things that matter most–the heart and soul of the Republic.
Trump is not the cause of crisis, in fact he is a corrective:
Trump haters come in all shapes and sizes but one belief they all seem to hold in common is that the temerity of the American people in electing Donald Trump will lead, as night follows day, to a constitutional crisis.
What they missed is that the crisis is already here and it’s been brewing for years. It’s just not the one they’re looking for and, contrary to what Left wing commentators would say, Trump isn’t the cause of the crisis, he is the response to it.
The fundamental issue confronting us is that the elites do not want the people to rule, thus striking at the idea of consent of the governed:
That’s the nub of the real political crisis: Elections. They’re messy and somebody has to lose. That doesn’t sit well in a society that gives kids participant trophies rather than teaching them how to lose with grace, which is why the attacks on Trump — which are also an attack on the 63 million Americans who voted for him — are nothing but a tantrum. It is a dangerous tantrum that threatens to further alienate voters who already think the game is rigged against them. At some point that alienation threatens to undermine the legitimacy of the regime itself.
The fundamental question of politics is always, who rules? Will it be voters acting in their constitutional majority or will it be ruling class elites who seem content to abide by election results only when they ratify the predetermined outcomes?
The attacks on Trump have not only that aim, but to stop his agenda:
The attacks on Trump aren’t about any real or imagined crimes, they are about gaining political advantage to stop the implementation of his agenda. In other words, they are politics by any means necessary: Burn it down, salt the earth, just don’t let Republicans enact their policy goals. And he wonders why voters turned on Hillary, turned on establishment Republicans and elected a man who promised to drain the swamp.
Yet all the allegations made by predominantly Democrats, are really projection of what they are doing:
And what of recent disclosures that Fusion GPS, the firm that created the so-called Trump dossier that was chock full of scandalous but wholly unsubstantiated allegations, was not only working for Trump’s domestic political opponents, but also for the Russians? For the past year we’ve been harangued with breathless claims that the president and his associates had struck a corrupt bargain with “the Russians” but so far the only evidence of an American-Russian alliance in political dirty tricks points to the Democrats. Funny that. But it is more evidence that the American Left has mastered and what psychiatrists call projection: If you want to know what Democrats are really doing, just look at the allegations they make against Republicans.
In the end, the people ought to rule by politics and right. Trump’s success hinges on making sure the people’s choice wins out, and all of the allegations against him are turned on the real perpetrators.
So reports Circa (and Sarah Carter has been correct about a lot in her reporting). Though with anonymous sources, this reporter has not been reckless in its use. We shall see. Sessions though may be starting to act:
FBI General Counsel James A. Baker is purportedly under a Department of Justice criminal investigation for allegedly leaking classified national security information to the media, according to multiple government officials close to the probe who spoke with Circa on the condition of anonymity.
As reported by Reuters in 2016, this is worth remembering as Clinton skates on her criminal behavior while in government:
Clinton Foundation officials last month declined to confirm the Qatar donation. In response to additional questions, a foundation spokesman, Brian Cookstra, this week said that it accepted the $1 million gift from Qatar, but this did not amount to a “material increase” in the Gulf country’s support for the charity. Cookstra declined to say whether Qatari officials received their requested meeting with Bill Clinton.
It seems the rot at the FBI continues down the line and this time, Democrat Party operative and Clinton supporter Andrew McCabe finds himself the subject of a leak both on and off the record, anonymous and named, for trying to smear Gen. Flynn on Russia.
It is alleged Flynn came to the defense of a female agent who was being sexually harassed by McCabe. McCabe took exception to this, and was heard disparaging Flynn in the office environment. The FBI also tried to get the Flyn letter supporting said agent squashed.
In other words, the case against Flynn may be personal. That’s abuse of power. This is what leaks were meant to do–shed light on government corruption. The case against McCabe is ongoing. McCabe has not recused himself from the Flynn probe. He should. If he doesn’t, it is within the right of the executive to terminate him:
“The Flynn leaks were nothing short of political,” one FBI employee said, noting the specific contents of the conversation were known by only a handful of government officials when they leaked. “The leaks appeared to be targeted to take Flynn out.”
Eventually the probe on Flynn moved beyond Russia to questions about whether he properly disclosed foreign payments affecting his security clearance.
FBI officials declined to answer any questions from Circa, including whether McCabe ever considered recusing himself or has recused himself from the Flynn aspects of the Russia probe. McCabe declined comment via the FBI press office.
Update: Ace has a few choice words on this issue:
See this Flashback from the Washington Post: the FBI reviewed Flynn’s calls with the Russian ambassador back in December and found nothing illicit at all.
And so they turned to trying to nail him on a paperwork foul having nothing to do with Russia at all.
Almost as if the top echelons of the FBI had been politicized and weaponized.
Thank God we have a cadre of “conservatives” to lecture us every day that anyone who works in a hierarchical organization and wears a suit is due the unquestioning obedience one would offer a living god.
The New York Post has revealed that the fake allegations included in the Dossier that made several libelous allegations against Trump has strong ties to the Democrat party and other operatives, including Hillary Clinton. We should not be surprised that the corruption of the administrative state by the Democrats includes the FBI:
Senate investigators are demanding to see records of communications between Fusion GPS and the FBI and the Justice Department, including any contacts with former Attorney General Loretta Lynch, now under congressional investigation for possibly obstructing the Hillary Clinton email probe, and deputy FBI director Andrew McCabe, who is under investigation by the Senate and the Justice inspector general for failing to recuse himself despite financial and political connections to the Clinton campaign through his Democratic activist wife. Senate investigators have singled out McCabe as the FBI official who negotiated with Steele.
Keep the name McCabe in mind. He will likely be central to any felonious activity from the FBI.
We ought not be surprised. And yes he’s shameless:
The investigation has now expanded to include Bernie himself. It has been alleged that Bernie used his considerable influence as a United States Senator and former Burlington mayor to encourage the bank to provide the loan.
When the issue was raised last month by a local journalist, Sanders dismissed the question and blamed President Trump for the investigation. The problem, however, is that the investigation began in January, 2016 when Obama was still in office and Loretta Lynch was still at Justice.
VDH has written what is most likely the best political commentary of the Trump tenure to date. The piece is not so much a plan for Trump to see his way through the leftist attacks upon his person and his character, but it is a detailed disgust of the fact that the left is a hopeless faction bent on destruction.
As an institution, Republicans win Congress have aided and abetted the left in their attempts:
Since January 2017, the Congress ceased being a legislative body. It is now a Star-chamber court determined to decapitate the presidency.
Never in the history of the republic have there been so many legislative and political simultaneous efforts to 1) sabotage the Electoral College, 2) sue to overturn the presidential vote in key swing states, 3) boycott the Inauguration, 4) systematically block presidential appointments, 5) surveille, unmask, and leak classified or privileged information about the elected president, 6) nullify federal law at the state and local level, 7) sue to remove the president by invoking the Emoluments Clause, 8) declare Trump unfit under the 25th Amendment, 9) demand recusals from his top aides, 10) cherry-pick sympathetic judges to block presidential executive orders, 11) have a prior administration’s residual appointees subvert their successor, and 12) promise impending impeachment.
The party has essentially become a crime family:
Former Obama Attorney General Loretta Lynch established the precedent that it was permissible for a sitting Attorney General to meet privately with a spouse of a high profile subject of an ongoing investigation by her own department, and to call in the Director of the FBI to ensure that his own then current investigation of the presidential candidate of her party did not imperil her campaign. In sum, Lynch should be the subject of a special investigation to see whether she habitually obstructed justice during the 2016 campaign.
James Comey leaked a privileged document via a third party to the press in violation of FBI protocols and possibly the law. He too should be subject to federal accountability, along with his purported acquiesce to demands from Attorney General Lynch to massage his investigation of Hillary Clinton. Never has such a congressional witness so incriminated himself in his efforts to incriminate others.
The largest scandal in our time comes from the Obama administration, and likely Obama himself:
Most importantly, the House Intelligence Agency must press ahead with investigations that members of the Obama administration may have improperly or even illegally surveilled political opponents (often under the guise of reverse-targeting them) unmasked their names, and leaked the information to the press in efforts to harm them. Those findings also should be given to a special investigator. The most explosive story of 2016 was not collusion or obstruction, but reported Obama administration efforts to interfere in a political campaign by subverting federal intelligence agencies while breaking the law.
The biggest scandal that eclipses Nixon is the fact that Obama and his administrations wire tapped political opponents under the guise of national security and then unmasked names in order to destroy political opponents.
