Over the next few weeks, I will be retelling the ousting of former President Robin Capehart, and the firing of administrators on campus who supported him, or who believed in free markets and classical liberalism. In the meantime, here is my second op-ed that appeared at the Pope Center. There is more detail on the decline of the university and the ousting of Capehart.
Pictured here is Shotwell Hall–the building the campus is closing for lack of funds. Capehart secured funding for the building to bring it up to code, and make repairs. He also secured monies to keep it open. Now the most architecturally beautiful building on campus will sit empty, a reminder of the college’s inability to preserve the things worth preserving.
