This week I heard the Leo Strauss Center at the University of Chicago has opened a new chapter. The Center is going to publish for download the recordings of Strauss’ classes. This is exciting for those who were not able to take any of his classes. Head on over to this page for the first 16 recordings of lectures on the Apology and Crito from a class in 1966. The lectures sound very well. The sound is a high quality. I am lost in the first lecture and full of wonder.
The Center has been slow in getting its site up and running with content. It looks like the site has recently had a face-lift. The success of the Center should be a great resource for scholars given that Strauss may be the greatest, and most influential, political philosopher of the 20th century.
