Today was a big day for Vinokourov. After losing the stage yesterday, he came out in the last few KM to take today’s stage by a few seconds from the rest of the peloton.

The day began in usual fashion with a break.  but the sprinters said, no, no, no, we shall have none of that today.  So HTC and Lampre did a lot of work to bring the break back.  After they got the break under control, there were a flurry of breaks.  One of those consisted of Vino.  Vino was clearly determined and the strongest today as he road the final 5k on his own to redeem himself.

The green also changed hands today.  Ale-jet is back in the lead.  But, after Vino won the stage, who came in second?  Cavendish.  He is now climbing in the points competition, and could win the green before the Tour concludes.  Thor cannot hold the wheel of, well, a lot of folks.  Thor has to get intermediate points to win the Green.  I say the odds are against him this year to win it again.

Now this is the way to enjouy Le Tour! It was a picturesque day on the tour.  There are more photos today of the scene around the tour.  Those are some of my favorite shots.  The one above demonstrates how the tour should be enjoyed:  family, food, and vino.
