In a little covered event–likely because of the domestic debate over Health Care in this country–Iran crossed the Iraq border and took over an oil well, raising its flag over the area taken.

Was this a provacation?  Yes.  Is this an ominous sign?  Likely.  The Globe and Mail states as much.  However, they are still on Iraq soil.  There was little, if any (I cannot find a single statement, but that does not mean one does not exist) reaction from the Obama administration.

If Iran can take an oil field with  little reaction, then might it feel emboldened to take more in the south of Iraq?
